Traditional Japanese Cotton Futon Mattress

This traditional Japanese futon mattress, made of cotton batting and able to be rolled up for easy storage in the closet, can be rolled out directly on the floor to sleep on, making it an efficient use of living space. Measuring 3 inches in thickness, this futon mat is an ideal option for floor sleeping. These traditional floor-rolling futon mattresses are brand new and made in the USA. The color may be slightly different, either lighter or darker, than the original advertised photo. If color matching with your décor is a concern, we are happy to provide a color sample for you to review first. These futon mattresses meet the required flame retardant standards by law.

A slight odor may be present initially due to the cotton and flame retardant treatments after being packed in the plastic bag and carton box, which is normal for all brand-new items. Simply leave the mattress near an open window for air circulation, and the smell will dissipate quickly.

As these mattresses are classified as oversized shipping items, the shipping rate can be quite high if sent in the original size. To mitigate this, we mostly compress the mattresses into smaller shipping boxes to reduce the shipping cost for our customers. After opening the package, the mattress may appear corrugated, causing the width and length to be slightly shorter. However, by fully stretching and pulling both ends of the mattress, it will regain its original shape after a few uses.

Available sizes (in inches) include: 3 x 30 x 80, full size 3 x 54 x 80, queen size 3 x 60 x 80, and king size 3 x 72 x 80. The mattress is filled with 90% white cotton batting, 5% polyester fiber batting, and resilient foam.

For cleaning, we always recommend using a mattress cover sheet to protect the futon. Spot cleaning is advised, followed by airing it out in the sun or near open windows for drying. These mattresses meet the required flame retardant standards by law.
